President Angel Zuniga Martinez’s plan “Adelante Con La Camara” presents ideas for chamber growth
KNOXVILLE, TN – The recently elected president of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of East Tennessee (HCCET), Angel Zuniga Martinez, introduced a plan to develop and increase chamber efforts during 2010.
Martinez explained that the campaign, “Adelante con la Camara” or “Let’s Move Forward with the Chamber,” consists of endeavors to double the Chamber membership to 300 by the end 2011. By having a more engaged board of directors, bringing more value to members and sponsors, and partnering with other community partners, the new president believes that this goal can be accomplished.
“The Hispanic Chamber’s ongoing activities including networking events, business related workshops, job fairs and many other community services have enabled us to bring it to its present level of 150 local members,” HCCET Executive Director Luis Velazquez said. “I look forward to seeing many more achievements that will come as a result of Angel’s leadership.”
Additional new board members including President Bill Garibay of Environmental, Safety & Health, Incorporated and former University of Tennessee and NFL football player Fuad Reveiz (Insurance Incorporated) support implementing this plan of action.
“I’m excited about working with Angel Martinez,” Garibay said. “He’s very energetic and has established a great goal for all of us at the Chamber to work towards.”
Reviez agreed with Garibay saying that Martinez’s goal was “lofty yet obtainable.”
The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of East Tennessee (HCCET) is a 501 c (6) nonprofit organization based in Knoxville, Tennessee, that advocates, promotes and facilitates the success of Hispanic businesses in East Tennessee, as well as assists local businesses in reaching the Hispanic market.
Since it was created in 2005, HCCET has continued to grow in membership and to support the activities of the region’s Hispanic professionals and community.
