Boxing Referee Lou Filippo Dies at 83

Boxing referee Lou Filippo has died. Flilppo, a member of
the World Boxing Hall of Fame, died Monday in Los Angeles. He was 83. The cause
of death was not released.
Filippo boxed professionally as a lightweight from 1947
to 1957 before becoming one of the top ring officials and judges. His referee
status led to several television and film appearances, including the referee
part in the last four installments of the Rocky series.
No other details about his death were available.
