Pia Toscano may have gotten booted from American Idol unexpectedly, but the 22-year-old did not walk away from the experience empty handed. Toscano confirms she has officially signed a contract with Interscope Records.

"I am thrilled to be joining the Interscope and 19 Recordings family. Jimmy Iovine was an amazing mentor during my time on Idol and I'm looking forward to working with him and everyone at Interscope Records and 19 Recordings. This is a dream come true,” Toscano said in a statement to Us Weekly magazine on Wednesday.

Toscano will release her first single, “This Time,” on Tuesday, July 12. She will also perform the single on the American Idol Love! Tour this summer.
