The American Association for Justice has asked Gary A. Newland to speak at the organization’s annual convention on the topic of food poisoning litigation. Lawyers will be able to get CLE credit for attending Gary’s seminar.
The American Society for Justice is formally the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. Their seminar will be July 30 2012 at the Hilton in Chicago.
Gary A. Newland of Newland & Newland LLP is on the forefront of the fight against food poisoning, a growing epidemic in America. He has represented hundreds of people injured by food. The majority of food poisoned victims have no permanent injuries; however, some suffer with reactive arthritis, injury to their bowel or intestine, and some cases result in death. E-coli, salmonella, shigella, campylobacter, noro virus and other types of food poisoning can have serious and even fatal injuries.
Food quality and food safety must be priority if we are going to trust the food supply in America. Most illnesses result when a basic health guideline is not followed such as washing hands or otherwise not properly cleaning. Hundreds of people can be injured by one person not washing properly.
It is important to report food injuries to the police and health department and to demand your physician or emergency room perform tests for a detailed diagnosis instead of accepting a diagnosis of food poisoning. Doctors can run tests that define the actual bug that caused the illness. Tests also allow the determination of the strain and that helps trace the origin of the illness.
It is challenging to prove fault in food poisoning cases
because often the symptoms can take several days to appear and the last meal is not always the culprit.
