Move Over Lifestyle Lifts - New Study Reveals Anti-Aging Effects of Rhinoplasty

EDISON, NEW JERSEY - The results of a study released last month by the University of Toronto revealed that undergoing a rhinoplasty often makes people look younger.

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, rhinoplasty corrects the proportion of the nose and boosts self-confidence by improving a person's appearance.

As Dr. Andrew Miller says, a specialist who performs lifestyle lift in NJ, "Anti-aging surgeries such as mini facelifts or cosmetic rejuvenations like laser peels are not conducted for the same reasons a rhinoplasty is. While we do have several patients who use our services to improve the overall appearance of their faces, a rhinoplasty is typically used to correct a bump, a wide tip or structural deformities of the nose that can hinder normal breathing."

The University of Toronto's study included 50 people who, based on before and after pictures of mostly young and middle-age people, guessed the ages of 53 rhinoplasty patients. Half of the study's participants first viewed before pictures and the other group members viewed the after photos first, which were taken a month after surgery.

The New Jersey rhinoplasty patients generally looked 1.5 years younger in the after photos. Those who received the most anti-aging benefits were patients who had a bump reduced or eliminated.

"While a facelift is still the best way to fight the effects of aging, we can now use this study to motivate patients interested in a rhinoplasty to undergo the surgery for its anti-aging benefits", said Miller, a botox New Jersey spcialist.
